A Sexually Transmitted Disease ( STD ), or the thought of one, can be a very scary thing! The Pregnancy Resource Center is dedicated to providing individuals with honest, accurate information about sexually-transmitted diseases and the risk of having one.

In the 1970's there were three common sexually transmitted diseases; today there are over twenty five! There are some sexually transmitted diseases that condoms offer little to no protection against such as: HPV, Herpes Simplex 2, and Chlamydia. Some feel that oral sex is a "safe" alternative to intercourse; yet what many do not realize is that the same STDs that you can contract during intercourse, you can get through oral sex.

For more information on STDs and referrals for testing and treatment call and ask to speak with a volunteer counselor.
